DESCRIPTION:Come and level up your skills through practice and community immersion. We’ll review and refine our learning with labs\, somatics\, trades\, and an afternoon clinic. Open to all Trager students and practitioners. Students will be consulted for priorities for the review class. \n  \n  \n \nInstructor: Joseph Rodin\, MA\, LMHC\, LMT. Gwen Joseph has practiced bodywork for over 25 years. He teaches Trager\, Intra-Oral Massage\, Myofascial Release and other subjects throughout the Northwest and beyond. He lives in Seattle where he practices psychotherapy and bodywork\, specializing in TMJ\, Headache\, and chronic pain presentations. \n  \nWhat is Trager®? Trager is a unique\, neuromuscular approach to bodywork and movement re-patterning. The tablework consists of deep\, fluid rocking movements (oscillations) of muscles and joints combined with compression and gentle traction. This feeds into the nervous system resulting in dramatic muscular relaxation\, along with feelings of lightness\, freedom\, and flexibility. The client is also shown simple exercises called mentastics which help integrate the profound changes in the body. \nMilton Trager\, MD\, who became aware of the basic principles at the age of 18\, spent over 50 years refining this unique approach to somatic movement therapy and bodywork.

The client is also shown simple exercises called mentastics which helps integrate the profound changes in the body. \nAbout This Class:\nAlthough Trager is it’s own bodywork modality\, it can be used to greatly enhance other styles of massage. In this class you’ll: \n\nLearn and practice Trager bodywork techniques and principles.\nLearn how the potency of the Trager three-dimensional oscillations\, combined with tissue compression\, promotes profound tissue release\, dissolves muscle memory\, and improves the efficiency of the nervous system.\n\nYou’ll leave with immediately effective tools for your style of work and an appreciation for the profound contributions of the Trager approach! \nThis Introductory Workshop serves as a prerequisite for the Trager® Level 1 Training leading towards certification as a Trager® Practitioner. \nInstructor:\nJoseph Rodin is a licensed massage therapist\, psychotherapist\, and certified Trager® practitioner. His somatic background includes intensive study of Trager®\, along with extensive coursework in osteopathic inspired manual therapy methods. Joseph took his first Trager® course in 1995 and returned to later to become certified in 2010. Since then\, he has taught numerous Trager® introductory classes\, mentored with and assisted senior Trager® instructors\, been a Trager® Tutor and is the past President of the US Trager® Association and past member of the Board of Directors for Trager International.
