SUMMARY:Trager® Certification Training - Bellingham\, WA
DESCRIPTION:Bellingham Trager Certification Program:\nLevel 1\, stand-alone class and the first module of the Bellingham Trager Certification series starts April 14-16th\, 2023\n \nThe Trager® Approach is a unique approach to bodywork and somatic movement therapy developed by Dr. Milton Trager\, MD who became aware of the basic principles at the age of 18 and spent over 50 years refining his work. In its full expression\, Trager work has become known as a highly effective neuro-fascial approach to bodywork with applications in rehabilitation\, movement re-patterning\, and psychophysical integration. \nThe tablework\, involving deep\, fluid rocking movements (oscillations) of muscles and joints combined with gentle traction and compression\, feeds the brain’s natural neuroplasticity and induces dramatic muscular relaxation\, along with feelings of lightness\, freedom\, and flexibility. Sessions also include individualized\, mindful\, somatic movement explorations called Mentastics®. \nTrager Certification: An experiential\, in depth training program designed for students to build the Trager® approach as a primary modality in their practice\, and to deepen levels of personal\, professional\, and spiritual integration. Guided table-work and movement practices\, supervision\, tutorials\, and supported practice days allow students to integrate Trager touch and movement into their current manual therapy and movement work while developing a successful Trager practice. Certification offers marketing credentials\, an optional referral listing on the US Trager Association website\, and access to further resources through the association. \nBenefits of Trager Certification \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExpand your career longevity and satisfaction.\n\n\n\n\nFacilitate deep levels of peace\, healing\, and pain-free living in yourself and your clients.\n\n\n\n\nCreatively address chronic pain\, the effects of trauma\, movement disorders\, and more.\n\n\n\n\nExpand your clientele by broadening your approach.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMilton Trager\, MD\, who became aware of the basic principles at the age of 18\, spent over 50 years refining this unique approach to somatic movement therapy and bodywork. SUMMARY:Restoring Poly-vagal Harmony and Core Muscular Integration Utilizing the Trager® Approach - Seattle - Jan 22nd
DESCRIPTION:Leverage Dr. Milton Trager’s seminal approach to touch and movement as a language and learn potent\, proven\, and most importantly\, trauma-informed\, non-invasive methods for reaching the unconscious mind and dissolving some of the deepest effects of held trauma\, those impacting the vagus nerve system. \nUsing the body as a handle to reach the mind for this dialogue and to establish a state of peace and safety\, we’ll utilize a combination of compassionate\, mindful attention\, oscillatory mobilizations\, and informed positional releases to address and integrate the implicated skeletal muscle groups associated with the fight\, fight or freeze response—those including trapezius\, diaphragm\, and psoas. \nOn the shoulders of your own well developed skills and coupled with a mindful presence\, these concepts will enhance your capacity to restore tone to the Ventral Vagal System through the Neck/Shoulders/Rib cage of your clients to potentiate deep and positive interoception and social connection. And the down regulation of the Dorsal Vagal Response through the diaphragm\, abdomen and psoas/QL\, will help to restore visceral harmony. You’ll also learn how to empower your clients to further the neuromuscular gains from this protocol to ensure lasting change through simple Trager® Mentastics: mindful somatic exercises. \nProper balance of vagus nerve response is essential for optimum health and well-being. The longest nerve in the human body\, the vagus nerve originates in the brain stem and extends into the chest and abdomen. Carrying both motor and sensory information\, it supplies innervation to the heart\, major blood vessels\, airways\, lungs\, esophagus\, stomach\, and intestines. \nIn addition\, the vagus nerve stimulates the secretion of acetylcholine within the central nervous system. Acetylcholine plays a role in motivation\, arousal\, attention\, learning\, memory including muscle memory\, and REM sleep. Acetylcholine\, a neurotransmitter as well as a neuromodulator\, also aids in reducing inflammation in all organs. It modulates the release of other neurotransmitters\, including dopamine\, norepinephrine\, and serotonin\, impacting the mood and the energy level. \nMichael Lear works with veterans and others managing effects of trauma and has been published on the subject. A Trager® Instructor\, Michael has been practicing Trager® and other forms of bodywork since 1987. A dedicated mindfulness adherent (Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka) and Ashtanga Yoga Instructor\, Michael’s lifelong commitment is to assist folks to be happy in their bodies and connected to those around them. \nRegister through Therapeutic Training Center

SUMMARY:MOVING IN MINDFULNESS -- Intro to Trager w Joseph Rodin - Port Angeles\, WA - Jan. 8th
DESCRIPTION:Trager’s® rhythmic\, interweaving waves of soft tissue and joint compression and traction result in profound levels of integration. \nWorking from the inside out\, dissolve patterns shaped through protection\, injury\, and trauma.  Restore greater ease and a more pain free life for client and practitioner alike. \nWhat is Trager®? Trager is a unique\, neuromuscular approach to bodywork and movement re-patterning. The tablework consists of deep\, fluid rocking movements (oscillations) of muscles and joints combined with compression and gentle traction. This feeds into the nervous system resulting in dramatic muscular relaxation\, along with feelings of lightness\, freedom\, and flexibility. The client is also shown simple exercises called mentastics which help integrate the profound changes in the body. \nSessions include individualized\, mindful\, somatic movement practices called Mentastics®. These support on-going well being\, enhance the benefits of Trager Sessions and teach clients how to integrate the principles into their daily life. \nMilton Trager\, MD\, who became aware of the basic principles at the age of 18\, spent over 50 years refining this unique approach to somatic movement therapy and bodywork. \nTrager® stands alone as an approach\, but also beautifully complements and deepens other styles of massage as well. Come and learn the language of the neuromuscular system\, and turn the temporary release of tension into an ongoing dissolution of muscular tension patterns. This Introductory Workshop serves as a prerequisite for the Trager® Level 1 Training leading towards certification as a Trager Practitioner. \nAlong with gaining mastery and deepening personal growth\, Trager® certification bestows a tangible credential in Neuromuscular Therapy and Movement Education and\, with permission\, the US Trager® Association will list practitioners on its website. \nInstructor: Joseph Rodin\, MA\, LMT\, CTP\, is a Trager Tutor\, Introductory Workshop Leader\, Supervised Practice Leader and Instructor. He’s practiced bodywork over twenty-four years and is also a licensed psychotherapist.

SUMMARY:BECOMING THE OCEAN-The Trager Approach to Bodywork and Massage- Boulder
DESCRIPTION:Improvisational and fluid\, Trager® releases chronic pain patterning while unfolding deepening levels of somatic integration. \n\n\n\n\nWorking from the inside out\, dissolve patterns shaped through protection\, injury\, and trauma.

SUMMARY:Upper Body Sources of Low Back Pain
DESCRIPTION:Non-traumatic\, chronic back pain often is often caused by issues upstream to the low back. When clients have chronic low back pain\, finding and treating contributing structures from the upper body can be the key to effect full resolution. Learn dynamic assessments and treatments for relationships of the following structures to low back pain\, including: organs\, bones\, joints\, and myofascia of the torso\, upper extremities\, neck and head. By the end of class students will be able to confidently assess and treat non-local structures contributing to stubborn\, non-abating low back pain.

SUMMARY:Treating the Source of Headache Pain
DESCRIPTION:Headaches refer to a broad range of pain experienced in the head\, face and skull. They derive from any combination of various structures including nerves\, sutures\, sinuses\, arteries\,\nmuscles\, and the functional and structural abnormalities. Sources can be both local and remote from the site of pain. \nThe key to treating headaches is combining the client’s symptom profile with incisive history taking and prolific palpatory assessment. We can then differentiate among the many sources and types of headache and base our treatments accordingly. \nIn this workshop we’ll differentiate between facial\, sutural\, TMJ\, neurologic\, structural and vestibular causes that result in migraine\, tension\, sinus\, cluster and other headaches. We’ll learn both their presentation and targeted methods of treatment.
