Treating the Source of Headache Pain

Headaches refer to a broad range of pain experienced in the head and face. They derive from any combination of various structures including nerves, sutures, sinuses, arteries, muscles, and the functional and structural abnormalities. Sources can be both local and remote from the site of pain.

The key to treating headaches is finding the source of pain by asking the right questions during client intake, knowing headache type profiles and having accurate palpatory assessment skills. We can then differentiate among the many sources and types of headache and base our treatments accordingly.

In this workshop you’ll learn to differentiate between facial, sutural, TMJ, neurologic, structural and vestibular causes that result in migraine, tension, sinus, cluster and other headaches; how to assess headache pain and how to treat headaches.

Trager® Approach to Massage

Trager® is an approach that combines deep, flowing movements, compressions and tractioning of the joints and soft tissue, resulting in profound relaxation and ease of movement.

We work from the inside out, to dissolve sensory patterns shaped through protection, injury, from pain, or trauma. Your innate movements can be restored and established in a more pain free life. Imagine the relief!

Manual Massage Therapy

Manual Therapy is the cornerstone of our therapeutic massage offerings. Treatment is refined from the best contributions of various fields of physical medicine and then customized and tailored to the needs of each patient’s situation.

For new patients, treatment begins with gathering information through written history and deep listening. From there we move on to various dynamic assessments. Through this integrative intake we target the source of pain, and then move on to treating pain and dysfunction with optimal medical massage and manual therapy techniques.
